Braaied Mielies

These mealies are excellent on the braai, but for a quick lunch, cook them on a cast iron griddle pan until brown and toastie.

You Will Need:

  • 3 T (45 ml) butter, at room temperature
  • 1 t (5 ml) Ina Paarman’s Vegetable Spice
  • 4 mealies
  • 3 T (45 ml) butter, at room temperature
  • 1 t (5 ml) Ina Paarman’s Vegetable Spice
  • 4 mealies

Method:

Mash the butter and Vegetable Spice together and keep on one side.

Preheat a cast iron griddle pan.

Brown mielies all round on a griddle pan.

Remove to a plate and immediately, while the sweetcorn is still hot, spread the flavoured butter over the mealies.

Insert the corn holders and enjoy!
