Apples
We used dried small Top Red apples with the Pork Belly.
Slice an apple very thinly on a mandolin slicer.
Dip slices in a Vitamin C sugar syrup (1/4 cup (60 ml) sugar, ¼ cup (60 ml) water and 1
crushed Vit C tablet or juice of ½ lemon).
Spread out on baking paper.
Dry out at 80 °C for ± 30 minutes.
Naartjie and Lime Slices
1 - 2 undersized naartjies and 1 - 2 limes (see pic)
Slice thinly into slices.
Dip slices into sugar.
Pack out on baking paper.
Dry out at 80 °C for ± 30 minutes.
Thyme
Put two good handfuls of thyme on baking paper in the air fryer.
Dry out at 80 °C for ± 30 minutes.
Cool, rub to separate hard stems.
Store in a glass jar.
Chillies
Handy to have in the kitchen.
Place a good handful of red chillies on baking paper in your air fryer.
Dry out at 80 °C for ± 1 hour, depending on size.
String with raffia or cotton string and hang upside down, ready to pick off when
needed.
Dehydration in your air fryer
