Easy Fruitcake Trifle

A trouble-free trifle. Quick to make and delicious to eat.
Easy Fruitcake Trifle

You Will Need:

  • 6 slices fruitcake, cut into 2 cm x 2 cm cubes
  • ½ cup (125 ml) sherry or Van der Hum
  • 1 cup (250 ml) fresh custard
  • 1 cup (250 ml) fresh cream
Decoration

glacé cherries, berries, crystalized fruit etc.

Method:

Place the cake cubes in a glass bowl, sprinkle the sherry over and leave for 5 minutes until absorbed. 

Pour the custard mixed with half of the cream, over the cake and leave overnight to soak in. 

Whip the remaining cream lightly and spread over the trifle. 

Decorate with fruit of your choice.
