Spicy Savoury Rice

The ultimate accompaniment to grilled seafood or spicy grilled meat, but equally good as a standalone vegetarian dish.

You Will Need:

  • 1 cup (250 ml) white rice, uncooked
  • 3 T (45 ml) butter
  • ½ green pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, sliced into rings
  • 125 g mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, chopped
  • 2 - 3 x sachets Ina Paarman’s Spicy Cajun Flavour Bomb
  • ½ lemon
  • handful coriander or parsley leaves, roughly chopped (optional)
  • 1 cup (250 ml) white rice, uncooked
  • 3 T (45 ml) butter

  • 125 g mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, chopped
  • 2 - 3 x sachets Ina Paarman’s Spicy Cajun Flavour Bomb
  • ½ lemon
  • handful coriander or parsley leaves, roughly chopped (optional)

Ina’s Tip

Use an extra Flavour Bomb, if you want a stronger flavour.

Method:

Cook the rice according to the package instructions and set aside.

Heat a large frying pan and add the butter.

When melted, add all the vegetables, and cook until soft and lightly browned.

Add the Flavour Bomb sachets and cook for 2 minutes while stirring.

Add the cooked rice and mix well.

Remove the dish from the heat, season with the lemon juice, and garnish it with chopped coriander or parsley.
